As cables in nuclear power plants (NPPs) are often exposed to very harsh ambient conditions such as high mechanical stresses, vibrations, seismic loads or high humidity their continuous maintenance may be susceptible to errors. On account of the fact that the condition of cabling is most often difficult to assess a cable breakdown may lead to an unexpected and long plant shutdown in the worst case.

The Cable Assessment Program ensures the continuous serviceability of plant cables. This program generates detailed reports about cable condition and aging analysis including recommendations of cables to be replaced. With the help of various electrical, chemical and visual inspections such as partial discharge measurements we perform a proactive lifetime cable management program to guarantee safe plant operation.
