Senior Project Manager (Sizewell B)

Through the expansion of our UK market we are currently looking to recruit an experienced Programme Manager / Senior Project Manager (dependent upon experience).  Your main focus will be leading strategic projects at SZB for the Framatome Group and also developing other frameworks and partnerships with potential Alliance partners in different Accounts of the UK Nuclear Industry.
With this position you would hold the role of professional lead within the UK organisation on developing alliancing and broader Project Management capabilities.

Initially you be expected to:

Lead the Framatome input into investment works at Sizewell B including but not limited to:

• Long Term Operational requirements
• Medium Term Investment Plan requirements
• Emergent project requirements to support the site team from a local perspective
• Identify opportunities to improve the service delivery of Framatome within clients operations.
• Work with the product lines of Framatome UK to develop their project management requirements, provide expert advice and develop a road map for the Framatome Project Management capability.

In the longer term you will:      

• Grow and develop the Framatome UK project management team and capability across the UK organisation.
• Develop and mentor Framatome UK project management resources to develop a world class project management organisation.
• Lead the project management organisation to ensure that all resource requirements across Framatome UK are delivered according to the requirement at the time

If you already have an understanding of nuclear systems and a familiarity with pressurised water reactors (PWR’s) within Sizewell B (SZB) or PWRs abroad,  would be a big plus point.  We do however recognise, and have great demonstrable examples of  people’s transferable from other highly regulated industries being a great platform to join our industry. 

The key activities you will need to perform in this role and be able to demonstrate with experience during the selection phase include:

• Discretion when handling sensitive information.
  Accountable for developing and overseeing a large project team.
• Overseeing project interfaces, co-ordinating sub area project managers and resolving conflicts with project interfaces to ensure that the outage execution resourced plan is fully integrated.
• Strong stakeholder management skills are a must both within the organisation and with senior members of the client organisation.
• Working with the commercial organisation in the development of partnerships and scope definition in a pre-contract phase.
• Working with the commercial organisation in the development of partnership agreements, MOU’s and Alliance agreements in a pre-contract phase.
• Risk analysis covering technical, financial and also legal aspects in a pre-contract phase. Reporting to management and proposing different options for decision making.

This position will be based at SZB (Suffolk) and allows for flexible working.

 Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Change management experience.
• Experience of working in the civil nuclear industry.
• Experience of delivery of projects on a nuclear site (preferably an EDF Nuclear Generation site).
• Experience of managing others (directly or via a matrix style structure).
• Experience of managing complex projects with varying stakeholder requirements.
• Experience of working in a multi-national organisation with resourcing capabilities spread across different countries.

Qualifications, Education or Suitable Alternatives

• Qualified project manager with experience in programme delivery across a number of industries but with a focus on nuclear delivery.
• Degree in project management (or working towards) or APMP qualified.
• IOSH/NEBOSH qualification.
• French language skills would be beneficial but not essential.
