This role will involve conducting integrated and cross-cutting coordination and reviews of construction preparation, looking at arrangements transparently and in detail from different & wider perspectives to provide oversight, ensuring pre-requisites, dependencies and constraints are managed in a balanced and integrated mode to ensure the activities on the site run safely and smoothly. The primary objective will be to identify and eliminate any issues prior to the work commencing on the site and will involve coordinating with the Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Multi-Discipline teams to perform the role.

 

  • This role is based in Bristol based with potential trips to Paris and/or Hinkley Point C site
  • For this role we are offering a salary of £50,000 – £60,000 depending on experience, plus benefits
  • Hybrid working – 3 days in the office
  • 37.5 working hours per week

 

Objectives:

  • The NI Process and Systems department hosts the instrumentation scope by carrying out the engineering activities of industrial sensors, as well as the associated frames.
  •  Based on the guide notes relating to the contract, the safety report and the doctrines in terms of design, the Contract and Technical Engineering Lead engineer (CEL/TL) is, before signature of contract, involved in its preparation (ITT) and its negotiation and after signing the contract, supports the Project Manager (client organization) by organizing the technical surveillance of deliverables produced by the supplier and manages interfaces of all entities involved.
  •  The CEL/TL acts as the Responsible Designer central point of contact for the contract which fall under his/her responsibility. This role is for instrumentation contracts engineering and technical lead (except qualification activities) in the scope of Edvance UK for Hinkley Point C EPR under construction in the United Kingdom. The sensors in question are mainly temperature sensors, pressure sensors, level measurements and flow measurements.
  •  The service is closely interfaced with all of EDVANCE’s engineering disciplines (control-command, layout, piping, safety, etc.).

 

Key Responsibilities:

Instrumentation Contract Engineering / Technical lead activities:

  • Entry point for the client organization concerning all topics linked to the contract and to produce support to the Client organization for technical issue (proactivity during the resolution part)
  • Ensure the technical management of the supplier, and support the Client in its contractual relationship with the supplier during the contract execution phase (in particular with regard to compliance with the schedule, costs, and scope of supply and studies).
  • Review of supplier documents according to technical referential in time with good level of quality and coordinate the documentary review of the various contributors
  • Produce comment sheets via dedicated tool to the supplier and perform discussion with supplier if needed

You are

  • Manage modifications on the contracts; to inform supplier via CTS send to the Client via dedicated tools
  • Entry point for all modifications, technical issues or non-conformities coming from site activities
  • Ensure the management of risks, opportunities, open points and modifications of its contract with the Client.
  • Follow-up of the activity of manufacturing for HPC Unit 2 in interface with other stakeholders
  • Manage the interfaces with all disciplines implicated in the contract (piping, layout, I&C, etc.); and especially with the qualification part performed in EDVANCE France
  • Support the pacification of activities and to follow all the Delivery To Site dates for equipment
  • Contribute to topics around good practices, innovation, improvement of processes, and quality
  • Participate in experience sharing activities

Activities listed above, are managed through different meetings:

  • Weekly technical meeting to discuss about technical issues
  • Manufacturing meeting to follow the Delivery To Site for equipment
  • Monthly meeting to have an overview concerning all parts (technical, planning, review, risks, …) for the contract
  • Meeting with site to be informed of technical issue

 

Requirements:

Essential:

  • Electrical / Electronic engineering degree/Chartered Engineer
  • 2 or 3 years in specification, design, procurement and installation of instrumentation components.
  • Knowledge of RCC-E code
  • Knowledge of 2D and 3D design software
  • Experience working in a multicultural environment
  • Knowledge of the HPC project or previous EPR and associated studies/doctrine is a real asset

Skills required:

  • Experience in the management of transverse technical and contractual topics
  • Excellent Interpersonal skills, conscientiousness, organisation, writing ability.
  • Good organizational, writing and oral expression skills in English are essential for the realization of the activities of document production, steering and interfaces with the various correspondents.
  • Ability to prioritise, to manage numerous interfaces, to question and understand the imperatives of other downstream disciplines. Ability to meet commitments and deadlines.
