Your missions

Overview

As our Mechanical Engineer you will aim to support the field design activities for both Civil and Mechanical disciplines.

Through a secondment to Edvance UK – joint venture with Framatome and EDF –  your initial role will be to contribute to the completion of the Hinkley Point C design phase.

You are

Main responsibilities

  • Making clarifications of the deliverables necessary for the construction with the help of the Back Office who carried out the studies (Bristol and Paris – Malakoff)
  • Closing of open points and comments
  • Assessing and answering technical issues arising during manufacturing, construction works, erection
  • Assessing and integrating modification coming from the stakeholders after packages handed-over to JDO
  • Doing some hand calculations and running anchorages macros to assess the feasibility of modification
  • Checking calculation notes and guide drawings subcontracted to external companies
  • Proposing improvements for the studies not finalized
  • Maintaining Edvance’s QA procedures in delivering the design
  • Working with CAD designers/detailers in the preparation of the design drawings
  • Leading technical meetings with suppliers or any other necessary support entities
  • Interfacing with several stakeholders

 

Qualifications and Experience

  • Science, mechanical engineering degree
  • First experience in Civil Work and Steel structures design and constructions activities
  • Knowledge of EUROCODE, RCC-M code (if possible)
  • Experience working in a multicultural environment
  • Knowledge of the HPC project or previous EPR and associated studies/doctrine is a real asset
  • Experience in the management of transverse technical topics
  • Experience with on site design support
  • Experience on wide projects

For this role we are offering a salary range of between £39,000 and £48,000 per annum plus benefits, including, but not limited to:
