In 2025, the FROG, Framatome Reactors Owners Group, continues its activities to support nuclear operators worldwide. Developed in line with its members' expectations and operational challenges, FROG’s 2025 roadmap addresses the evolving complexities of our industry.
The 2025 roadmap includes themes identified during the annual steering committees: operational impacts of climate change, management of human factors and competencies, long-term operation... Twelve working groups (WGs) are dedicated to sharing these themes with experts and specialists. The two most recent WGs on Instrumentation-Control and Knowledge Management were created two years ago: they are generating strong member interest and continuing to grow.
Three joint programs were launched at the beginning of the year focused on Climate change, pool liner mock-up and on diesel generators. Four new programs from the Instrumentation-Control WG and from the Aging & Corrosion WG were submitted to members' votes. Since its creation in 1991, the FROG has carried out more than 50 joint programs: their conclusions provide members with precise answers to specific technical problems.
12 members, 130 reactors: A valuable operational feedback
This international network, led by Framatome, has 12 permanent members: CGN, CNNP, EDF, EDF Energy, Engie, EPZ, ESKOM, KHNP, KKG, NEK, TVO and Vattenfall, and four associated members: Ameren, Axpo, Fortum and CNAT.
Representing more than a quarter of the world’s reactors, the FROG community benefits from exceptional operational feedback, nurtured by the quality and openness of trade between its members.
Discussions are underway with other operators, who may soon join the FROG community.
