Framatome completes acquisition of CETh and strengthens its welding skills

September 5, 2022 - Framatome announced today the acquisition of CETh, which provides specialists in welding and post-welding heat treatment applications for the nuclear industry. Through this acquisition, Framatome consolidates its global expertise for all operations associated with welding.

“I am pleased to welcome the CETh teams of experts to Framatome,” said Bernard Fontana, CEO of Framatome. “We look forward to integrating this long-standing partner to master critical technologies for high-tech welding operations that further strengthens Framatome’s industrial capabilities.”

Located in La Roche-sur-Yon, France, CETh employees design and manufacture custom-made heat treatment equipment, including heating processes and stress relieving solutions. CETh is one of the few localized heat treatment specialists to be CEFRI certified to operate in a controlled area.

“We have developed a relationship of trust with the CETh teams for many years,” said Catherine Cornand, senior executive vice president of the Installed Base Business Unit at Framatome. “Together, we will strengthen our welding skills by integrating this recognized thermal treatment technology and develop synergies with other Framatome entities globally to serve our customers in the nuclear and defense sectors.”
