Framatome launches Framatome Defense to support the French national defense industry

October 19, 2020 – Framatome is pleased to announce the launch of Framatome Defense, a new brand that promotes the company’s defense activities and affirms its commitment and strengthens its contribution to this strategic sector. Framatome Defense combines the company’s defense activities under one brand to enhance collaborations with key players in the state and industrial defense sector.

The logo of the new brand Framatome Defense “We are proud to be part of this French sector of excellence and to contribute over the long term to bringing innovation and performance to defense systems,” said Bernard Fontana, CEO of Framatome.

Framatome's commitment to defense is based on the experience and expertise of the breadth of its facilities across France.

The sites of Le Creusot in Burgundy, and Jeumont in the North of France produce equipment of high added value for major defense programs.

Moreover, Framatome subsidiaries, design and supply engineering simulators and provide in-service control and inspection services on naval propulsion reactors.

In addition, Framatome advises, develops and integrates cybersecurity solutions to ensure maximum protection of sensitive digital systems and increase their resilience.

Framatome has supported the defense sector for decades with a focus on components of the French Navy, notably for submarine programs and the Charles de Gaulle aircraft carrier. The company also contributes innovation for large, ongoing programs like Barracuda and SNLE3G.
