January 11, 2021 – Framatome signed a purchase agreement to acquire Evopro nuclear and process automation (NPA) Kft., located in Budapest, Hungary. The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2021 after receipt of the required clearances.

Through this acquisition, Framatome will strengthen its position in Central Europe and establish a local presence in Hungary. Approximately 30 Evopro NPA employees will join Framatome when the transaction is complete. Evopro NPA’s expertise includes projects that involve instrumentation and control (I&C) for the nuclear industry and the European Spallation Source, and process and other energy automation activities, mainly in Hungary.

“This acquisition allows us to expand our presence in Central Europe as major I&C projects, such as those at the Paks Nuclear Power Plant, begin,” said Frédéric Lelièvre, senior executive vice president of Sales, Regional Platforms and I&C at Framatome. “Our customers in the region will quickly experience the acquisition’s added value and benefits, including the local proximity of our expert team, in line with our development strategy.”

The Evopro group is a leader in the industrial automation and software services field in Central and Eastern Europe. The company strategically built its nuclear I&C competence as part of Evopro group's commitment to a zero-emissions economy.
