To seal leakages, or as a preventive measure, Framatome has developed a specially designed process to meet the requirements for mechanical or thermal stressed liners in the nuclear industry. Regardless of the origin of the leak, the so-called “sandwich technology” is used to seal leakages with silicone adhesives. Thanks to 20-plus years of experience inspecting and repairing liner leaks in both the reactor cavity and in the spent fuel pool. We continue to perfect remote leak detection technology for both dry and underwater locations. This includes developing vacuum-seal leak detection for a wide array of robotic manipulators.
