Main description
In consequence of the event at the Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant, the safety authorities demanded an increase of the safety measures to protect the nuclear installations and their environment. Framatome has developed an equipment which is based on a concept that guarantees an optimum level of reliability corresponding to the highest qualification criteria. Based on piezoelectric sensors the Framatome Seismic Trigger uses pure analog technology without any software. The system operates together with analogue or digital control systems (e.g. reactor protection system) or allows e.g. the automatic operation of valves.
