Overview
As our QA/QC Engineer, you will oversee and manage the day to day of manufacturing technical issues, within the scope of UK suppliers for HPC and SZC projects.

This opportunity will see your career with Framatome begin on assignment to the EDVANCE UK EPR Design Centre – our joint venture with EDF.

This role is based in Aztec West (Bristol, UK) with some travel to and time spent in France.

Main responsibilities

  • Producing Surveillance Offers related to contracts for which DI/UKMC has been mandated by HPC
  • Producing Documentation Surveillance plans
  • Performing technical reviews and accept supplier documents such as manufacturing documents, non-conformance reports and exemption requests
  • Producing studies on the functional redundancies impacted
  • Overseeing the production of Clearance Notes, which report to HPC/NNB the efficacy of component and equipment inspections
  • Being responsible for the capitalization of OPEX regarding manufacturing issues
  • Contributing to the production of contractual technical requirements for manufacturing operations
  • Producing the surveillance programs in the dedicated DI tools
  • Attending manufacturing kick-off meetings alongside the DI inspectors

Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

  • Degree qualified Engineer (in an appropriate scientific or engineering discipline)
  • Recognized advanced welding diploma or certificate (at least International Welding Engineer or equivalent)
  • Experience in documentation review/check for manufacturing of mechanical equipment
  • Knowledge of regulations, codes and standards related to the manufacturing of steel components (and preferably in the nuclear industry)

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of the HPC project

Skills and Competencies

Essential:

The Equipment Engineer should have the ability to take a strategic view with good interpersonal skills and be able to communicate at all levels. They should be:

  • Motivated and disciplined with an ability to work to deadlines and prioritize work across multiple projects
  • Able to write and review technical documents which present complex arguments clearly
  • Take a proactive approach to management and resolution of technical topics
  • Good self-organization of work and the ability to manage several work streams simultaneously
  • Ability to manage the interactions with a multi-disciplinary team;
  • Committed to deliver to quality and schedule
  • Ability to cope in a technically complex and fast-changing environment;
  • Ability to remain focused under pressure, thinking clearly and objectively
  • Fluent in French – speaking, writing, listening. Based on the level of interaction with our French colleagues, the ability to fluently speak French is essential


Desirable:

  • Knowledge of non-destructive testing
  • Knowledge of Nuclear Safety requirements

For this role we are offering a salary range of between £40,000 and £45,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits, including:
