NEK, Nuklearna elektrarna Krško, becomes the tenth permanent member of the FROG and will sit alongside EDF, EDF Energy, Engie, Vattenfall, KHNP, CGN and CNNP, TVO and EPZ in its decision-making bodies.

“NEK participated in the FROG working group on steam generators. Our discussions on sludge cleaning, chemical cleaning, or applying film forming amines are examples of successful cooperation.” testifies Mario Gluhak, Technical Director of the Krško power plant. “We are convinced that we have many points of common interest with other operators and want to be able to expand the areas of exchange.”

For Zheng Yong Xian, from CNNP, the current Chairman of the FROG: “We are very pleased to welcome NEK to the permanent members of the FROG. NEK was already very active in our organization. Now a permanent member, it will be involved in all of our work and in defining the strategic orientations of the FROG.”

“Sharing experience is at the heart of FROG’s missions,” says Catherine Cornand, SEVP BU Framatome Installed Base. “Through specialized working groups, study and research programs, nuclear power plant operators benefit both a free and informative space for expression, and the contribution of Framatome’s expertise as an OEM.”

FROG logoCreated in 1991, FROG, the Framatome Reactor OwnersGroup, is an international network led by Framatome teams. It includes both operators whose reactors were designed by Framatome and operators whose reactors are equipped with its components. Since 2018, FROG has extended the study topics of its working groups to the specificities of EPR design.

Since its inception, FROG has initiated more than 50 key research and study programs for the nuclear industry. The FROG hosts ten Working Groups today. In addition to their work throughout the year, members have personalized access to the FROG website, with a forum space, an operator database, and a decision space specifically on FROG programs.

The FROG represents now 120 reactors worldwide, more than a quarter of the world’s nuclear fleet.
