October 12, 2022 – Framatome announced the extension of its integrated outage services to support long-term operations for utility customer PSEG Nuclear. Framatome will provide refueling, non-destructive examination and steam generator services for Salem Units 1 and 2 and Hope Creek.
“Framatome’s maintenance and inspection teams have a long history of delivering with excellence and a focus on continuous improvement for PSEG,” said Catherine Cornand, senior executive vice president of Installed Base for Framatome. “Our customer’s confidence is built on our proven performance and the high standards of our North American teams to ensure the safe, reliable and long-term operations of nuclear power plants in the U.S.”
Framatome has provided a wide range of outage and maintenance services to PSEG for nearly 20 years and will continue to do so at both the Salem and Hope Creek nuclear plants.
Framatome works with utilities worldwide on a variety of outage services, including reactor maintenance, inspections, fuel reloading operations and outage management optimization. Building on this expertise, Framatome along with PSEG teams will perform services during these outages to optimize performance and manage project commitments for seamless outage results.
The PSEG Nuclear Salem and Hope Creek generating stations produce nearly half of New Jersey’s electricity and more than 90 percent of the state’s air pollution-free generation. The Salem units are pressurized water reactors, and the Hope Creek unit is a boiling water reactor. Together they generate enough electricity for three million homes each day. The plants, and their more than 1,600 employees, help keep electricity rates affordable, support reliability of the grid and reduce public health costs.
