LTCAM – Active Photothermal Camera for detection of open and sub-surface flaws during inspections

Framatome – Intercontrôle developed a new Non Destructive Examination tool – LTCAM – that can surrogate sipping and magnetioscopy methods for open and sub-surface flaws. The photothermal technique is contactless and based on the measure of the infrared (IR) emission generated by a thermal excitation of the inspected piece. A continuous measurement permits to reconstruct an image of the inspected surface and to reveal the flaws.
