Framatome offers for each type of solid waste the right technique for the treatment and management of this type of nuclear waste. These techniques support you to safely handle your solid waste, wherever possible to reduce waste volume and to fulfill the waste acceptance criteria (WAC) for the protection of human health and the environment.
Framatome's solid waste treatment portfolio supports you with collection, sorting, drying (see also liquid waste treatment), shredding, compaction, drum handling and characterization. Compaction for example can be used for dry solid radioactive waste like protective clothing, cleaning cloths, insulations materials, metals and more to significantly reduce the volume.
