Advanced reactor projects are mostly developing small or micro units, prefabricated in a workshop and assembled in modules at the plant location. This approach promises lower final costs through full standardization of elementary modules, components and equipment. Framatome is the world leader in deploying standardized plant designs, as reflected in the French PWR operating fleet of 58 nuclear plants. These standardization lessons learned will be fully reflected in design and equipment supply for advanced reactors.
