Enhanced Mast Sipping Equipment (eMSE)

Main description

Enhanced Mast Sipping Equipment (eMSE) is an enhanced online technique for identifying leaking Fuel Assemblies during core unloading and/or shuffling. The eMSE, a modern and easy to use piece of equipment, can be used in all types of reactors: Pressurized Water Reactors (PWR) and Boiling Water Reactors (BWR). Our solution, which is now smaller, lighter, and more efficient, follows the fuel handling machine cycle without additional hold time and gives immediate information on the condition of the fuel assemblies to be reinserted into the core. The on-line evaluation and automatic display of results is provided during or immediately after the measurement of the fuel assembly. Using the remote control, the radiation exposure of field personnel is reduced.
