Safety in operation - Containment Building integrity

Containment building is the third and ultimate barrier between nuclear material and environment. Its integrity is vital for plant's operation in case of a core melt. Designed to resist extreme events, its integrity necessitates safety systems able to limit the pressure below limits. Framatome developed a full set of systems for this function, from Heat Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) to Hydrogen recombiners, Filtered Containment Venting System (FCVS) or Passive Autocatalytic Recombiners (PAR). We also propose our expertise for concrete vessel assessment and inspection.
