Engineering Training Programs provide field-ready expertise

February 09, 2023 | 1 min |

As the need for a clean energy future becomes increasingly important, academic career training programs prepare the next generation of nuclear professionals. The gravity of a global energy independent economy and the urgency for a clean energy transition elevates the demand for safe, reliable nuclear energy, but is the workforce prepared?

The inaugural class of Framatome’s comprehensive Instrumentation and Control (I&C) Engineering Training Program recently received their certificates of completion at a celebration held on February 3 at the company’s I&C Center of Excellence in Lyon, France. These certificates mark the culmination of extensive hands-on training that deepens expertise and prepares students for complex engineering challenges.

“Fostering the development of engineers to support I&C systems – the brains of nuclear plant operations – is crucial for the future of our industry,” said Frédéric Lelièvre, senior executive vice president of Sales, Regional Platforms and the I&C Business Unit. “This first-of-a-kind training program fosters the expertise of our future workforce and amplifies our commitment to power for the future of clean nuclear energy in France and around the world.”
