Framatome announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Slovak University of Technology (STU) in Bratislava to explore and pursue collaborative opportunities in education and training in the field of nuclear energy.

“Framatome is delighted to sign this MoU with STU and further contribute to supporting Slovakia’s nuclear industry,” said Bernard Fontana, CEO of Framatome. “Framatome has a longstanding relationship with Slovakia through our work for Slovenské elektrárne, and is present locally through two companies, Reaktortest s.r.o.and Framatome Controls s.r.o. This MoU marks our commitment to collaborate on a wide range of education and training opportunities that will directly support Slovakia’s nuclear energy policy.”

Within the scope of the agreement, Framatome and STU will work together to organize lectures, seminars and other training opportunities for students and staff. Faculty members will take part in scientific visits to Framatome premises and factories, and R&D activities will be explored where appropriate.

"Our university has competence in many fields that are necessary for the safe and reliable use of nuclear energy, so in the context of fulfilling the declarations signed today, I anticipate and personally support cooperation with Framatome across all workplaces," said STU rector Oliver Moravčík.

This MoU reflects Framatome’s support of Slovakia’s nuclear energy program and illustrates its commitment to developing industry expertise for a safe, reliable, low-carbon energy future.
