“Working with teams at Hope Creek Generating Station, we performed this outage inspection with a high level of commitment to operational excellence,” said Craig Ranson, senior vice president of the Installed Base Business Unit at Framatome in North America. “We are proud to be on the cutting edge of the nuclear energy industry with new technologies, like our HawkEYE inspection tool, that improve safety and performance for customers around the world.”
“Sourcing and implementing best practices is a fundamental organizational imperative at PSEG Nuclear,” says PSEG Nuclear President and Chief Nuclear Officer Pete Sena. “We actively pursue progressive directions, and Framatome has been a key collaborator in that capacity.”
During the award ceremony, Framatome presented Southern Nuclear, operator of Georgia Power’s Alvin W. Vogtle Electric Generating Plant, with its TIP Vendor Award. Southern received this honor for operating the first complete, full-length PROtect Enhanced Accident Tolerant Fuel (EATF) concept, designed and manufactured by Framatome.
Framatome fabricated the EATF fuel assemblies at its fuel manufacturing facility in Richland, Washington, as part of a 2017 contract with Southern Nuclear.
