An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Contract Engineering Lead role in Bristol to support multiple Valves contracts across HPC and SZC scope. This is a valuable and technically stimulating opportunity to work within Edvance UK to support both Hinkley Point C (HPC) and Sizewell C (SZC) which are a vital part of the UK’s future energy strategy. As the first of the UK’s next generation of nuclear power stations, HPC is both of high profile and high complexity.

As part of the Responsible Designer, Edvance UK deliver the design of some of the Nuclear Island (NI) buildings for Hinkley Point C from their Bristol Office and will also replicate the NI design for SZC in the years to come

 

 

  • This role is based in Bristol (Aztec West)
  • For this role we are offering a salary of £52,000 – £60,000 per annum, plus benefits
  • 37.5 working hours per week

 

As the Contract Engineering Lead you will provide contractual and technical oversight of a number of valve contracts, including the management and coordination of Technical Engineering Leads for each contract and managing the resolution of open-points related to Design, Manufacturing and Qualification. You will be also responsible for keeping the contract at the configuration compliant with the project progress

 In order to do this, you will work closely with the relevant disciplines in Edvance UK and Edvance France but also within the client and the suppliers to ensure the technical requirements are met. 

 

 Main Activities:

 

Typical Contract Engineering Lead activities include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Leading contract technical and project meetings
  • Technical surveillance and resolution of issues/queries
  • Review and approval of contractor deliverables and design where necessary
  • Control and Management of the evolution of the contract and design changes
  • Review and approval of contract amendments and exemptions (CTSs, ERs)
  • Manage the valve contract TELs and associated delivery scope, including task prioritisation
  • Resource and budget planning to ensure the requirements of the contract are met to time, cost, schedule and quality
  • Liaise with RD and client teams to ensure integration of equipment with interfacing functions/systems
  • Liaise with RD and client management teams to communicate progress, risks, issues and planning to support contract delivery.
  • Reporting of KPIs to the ITB Equipment Manager and Sequence 5
  • Ensure qualification activities are progressing accordingly to the contract progress and site needs.

 

 

 

You are

Skills:

 

  • Understanding of the EPR or general PWR design
  • Knowledge and experienced in Valve Design, Manufacture and Operations
  • Understanding of valve interfaces (pipework, supports, fluids, safety case, systems engineering)
  • Contract management and documentary surveillance
  • Experience using change-management, commercial and deliverable management systems (UKDC, UKICM, OPM, CEMAR, Teamcenter) is advantageous
  • IT literate
    French-speaking would be an advantage
  • Master’s degree or equivalent in an Engineering or Scientific Discipline
