Framatome signs collaboration agreement with AGH University to foster growth in nuclear energy education

Framatome announced today the signing of a three-year collaboration agreement with AGH University of Krakow (pol. Akademia Górniczo-Hutnicza), Poland, to cultivate educational programs that foster growth opportunities for students pursuing nuclear energy professions. Expanding on the existing programs with Wroclaw and Warsaw Universities of Technology, Framatome will provide lectures, internships, recruitment and joint research opportunities in the field of nuclear energy.

“As Poland embarks on the development and construction of its nuclear energy program, the availability of a highly skilled workforce and pipeline for future professionals are crucial components of success,” said Bernard Fontana, CEO of Framatome. “Forging this collaboration with the staff at AGH University builds on our long-standing relationship with Poland and further establishes our commitment and responsibility to develop industry expertise for a safe, reliable, low-carbon energy future.”

Framatome and AGH University will promote joint initiatives to support the nation’s nuclear program by preparing graduate and post-graduate engineering students for long-term careers in nuclear energy. These programs will teach technical knowledge aligned with the industry’s needs and provide a foundation for working with advanced technologies. Activities will also include research in the areas of structural mechanics, thermal-hydraulics, EPR cycle, safety and accident analysis for nuclear components and systems.

“Preparing the next generation of skilled workers for the future has always been our top priority,” said Monika Motak, Dean of the Faculty of Energy at AGH University. “Through our partnership with Framatome, we will continue to develop and enhance educational programs that shape the future of nuclear energy professionals in Poland.”

This collaboration between Framatome and AGH University reinforces the commitment to Poland's nuclear energy program and the development of a highly skilled workforce. By providing six-month internships, lectures, recruitment opportunities, and joint research initiatives, Framatome aims to contribute to the growth and success of the nation's nuclear industry. The partnership will attract talented students to the nuclear profession and equip them with the necessary knowledge and skills for long-term careers in nuclear energy.
